Aloha!

I've got another Hanna Stamps Riley card for you today. This is Riley relaxing in his hammock. I found great paper at my LSS, Scrapbooks and Beyond and thought it would make a great surfer moose card. This paper from is from Teresa Collins Designs, a line called Boardwalk. One side had a very large orange hibiscus and the other side was broken into 4 sections of smaller scaled papers, perfect for card making, the orange hibiscus seen here on the top of the card, the waves on the bottom, a section of all surfboards and one of palm trees.

I cut out one of the little surf boards from the patterned paper and covered it with Ranger Glossy Accents. A moose as cool as Riley has to have a shiny board, right?

I cut an extra section of the waves and cut along the wave lines. I mounted this with 3D dots on top of the wave paper I had already put on the bottom of the card. This allowed me to place my Riley panel under the waves. Cool ha? Kind of looks like he has surfed to a deserted island.

Riley was stamped with Pallette Noir onto Papertrey Stampers Select and colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The "Aloha" was stamped using Simple Alphabet from PTI.

I think I have now officially used all of the Riley's I have on cards. Now I can go get more. Hanna Stamps just came out with a bunch of new ones.

Got to go read a story to Tyler, he has been begging for 10 minutes now. I know these days won't last forever, so off I go.

Birthday Riley

I'm back.. well as back as I can get I guess. Last week was hectic and my head was so full that creating anything just seemed like work instead of fun. There has not been a lot of change for my friend but we are still hanging in there and doing the waiting thing. That is about all we can do right now. A huge thank you to everyone who has sent prayers and words of encouragement.

Now onto my card:

I found this paper at my LSS and had to get it to make a few summer boyish Birthday Cards. The paepr is from the Scenic Route - Liberty line. The cream is the new Vintage Cream from Papertrey Ink. So Yummy!

I stamped Hanna's Tractor Riley with Pallette Noir. Colored him with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I added some Ranger Glossy accents to the tractor for some texture. Love that stuff. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the CC Designs set It's My Birthday. I do not remember where in the world I got the star brads they have been in my stash forevah!

OK now I need to go put some puff paint on the smoke clouds to make them look better. Funny how I see this stuff after I post, ha?
Thanks for stopping by!

Hula'va Good

I know I am the worlds biggest dork. I talk to my stamps and make up funny words. I can't help it, this was the first thing I thought of when I saw Sophie hula dancing. Have a HULA'va Birthday.

I crack myself up! Hey I asked my husband and he said that it was cute... so I guess that makes himi a big dork too.

So this is the Hanna Stamps, Sophie Moose I have been talking about. She is stamped on PTI select (what else), colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I threaded some beads to give her grass skirt a little bit extra. I had big plans for this moose but couldn't get it to work out completely as planned. I have not given up on my plan just yet though.

So this card was super quick. I already had Sopie colored and cut out. She as been sitting on my keyboard for a few days now just waiting around. So the card base is Bazzil and the polka dot paper is from We R Memory Keepers. I love it. The words were stamped with PTI's Simple Alphabet. I tried make the letters a bit scattered, just so that I didn't have to try to line them up perfect. It kind of looks a mess. I need to practice more with this set.

The ribbon is from American Crafts.

Have a Hula'va Day!

Pretty Pink Plane

One more card with Plane Riley! This is the same layout as the last one but fancied it up for a girl. I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS to color the image. The I put a nice layer of Glossy Accents on the plane. To add the sparkle I dumped a bunch of Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter on top of the wet glossy accents. I wasn't sure of how it would dry but it is awesome. Not so much in this photo but IRL it really sparkles. Riley sort of transformed into Sophie with the pink scarf.

Using a craft knife I cut away the banner from the original image. I stamped the banner and sentiment onto vellum and cut it out, then glued it over the opening in the original image, allowing the patterned paper underneath to show through a tiny bit. It gave the banner a little something, with out taking away from the pilot. The brads were covered with pink Stickles to carry on the sparkle from the plane.

That is about it. Tyler is in a rotten 3 year old cranky mood today so I must go calm the beast before he gets really worked up. I can't wait till warm weather so we can get outside and play. Thanks for checking in today.

YEAH!! More Riley!!!

Yippie! Hanna Stamps has just released more Riley the Moose stamps. He has lady friend now also. Her name is Sophie. You need to check out Riley and Sophie. I have a couple more coming to add to the 2 I already have. I just love this moose. This is a card that I made a while back and thought I had already posted. OOPS! I meant to! SO this is Plane Riley. He is stamped on PTI Select with StazOn and colored with copics and tombows. I'm going to make him again later today and color him with my new Prismacolor pencils. I've picked up a few pointers with the copics since I colored this, so I might have to try him with those again too.

I added a nice coat of Glossy Accents to the plane to give it a good shine and some 3D-ness. (nice word ha?) This card is going to one of Tyler's friends who is having a Birthday party tomorrow. These Riley stamps are great for boy cards. Wait till you see the one that I have coming. (You will appreciate this one Dad.) Actually I have 3 coming.. sshhhh don't tell DH.

Talked to Tim last night on email and he ordered his wheelchair yesterday. Sounds like he got everything except an engine on this thing. Shocks, titanium something-or-others, carbon-fiber-something-else, air-filled seat seat cushion, disc brakes, two types of rear wheels and some type of special front wheels too. Hey the guy knows how to outfit a rig that is for sure. Apparently the man that helped set him up has never ordered a chair quite like this one before. I guess for those of us who know Tim we would not expect anything less. :)

This post has taken me forever. Between trying to figure out how to load photos from my camera to the new computer and then using the generic photo editor that came with the printer, this has been quite a process. Hopefully I can speed it up. The wind is blowing like a bugger and I expect the power to go out any minute. And the little man should be getting up soon. He has been so tired with this cold. His nap has lasted 2 1/2 hours again today. I guess he needs it.

Sorry for rambling, Thanks for looking.
